Just had a thought…
I’m writing five questions that I hope people ask about my thesis. It’s for Anne West’s first seminar of the semester. One of my questions is “Why is this thesis necessary with the glut of activist design work currently circulating?” and I think my answer is that designers are apt to do work for the greater good with the same tired toolkit. It’s only by analyzing where we are that we can know what we need to do next. It’s a fragment of an answer, but it makes me feel like I know how I can structure my thesis to answer a question.
I think that might be what the thesis is lacking. Until now it’s been a survey on current graphic activism. I need to inject my oppinon more to make it a critique.
